EVO ICL
What is EVO ICL?
EVO ICL is a refractive implant to correct common vision issues like myopia (nearsightedness) with or without astigmatism. Unlike other vision correction options, the EVO ICL is an additive technology that corrects vision without removing corneal tissue. The EVO ICL reduces or eliminates the need for glasses and contacts. Unlike most permanent refractive solutions, EVO ICL is removable by your doctor for added peace of mind.
The EVO ICL offers a sharper, more precise, vivid, and three-dimensional vision correction compared to other procedures. The main advantage of the EVO ICL over traditional corrective laser eye surgery is that patients may experience a significant improvement in the quality of vision after the lens is implanted. Unlike corneal refractive surgery, the EVO ICL may result in superior vision quality, as evidenced by fewer higher-order aberrations. Patients experience an almost immediate visual recovery and are amazed by the excellent results.
How Do I Know if I am a Candidate for the EVO ICL?
The only way to determine whether or not you will be a good candidate for the EVO ICL is a consultation; your eye doctor will evaluate various factors, like the health of your eyes, your vision, and your vision goals.
The EVO ICL can correct vision in nearsighted people or those with nearsightedness with astigmatism.
During this evaluation, your eye doctor will thoroughly examine and measure your eyes. In general, some factors that may make someone a good candidate for the EVO ICL are:
- Stable glasses prescription
- Overall good eye health
- Overall good general health
- Nearsighted or have nearsightedness with astigmatism
The EVO ICL may be a good option for permanent vision correction for those who did not qualify for other methods due to having thin corneas. Since the EVO ICL procedure does not require any alteration of the cornea tissue, the thickness of your cornea is not a factor that will determine your candidacy for this procedure.
